A Prayer for the Swift Return of Kyabje Chime Rinpoche

A Prayer for the Swift Return of Kyabje Chime Rinpoche

Prayer composed by Kyabje Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche

Following Rinpoche’s Parinirvana, and in response to our heartfelt request to Kyabje Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, we are deeply honoured to share this beautiful prayer he has composed for the swift rebirth of our precious teacher.

The profoundly close connection between Rabjam Rinpoche and his uncle, Chime Rinpoche, makes this especially meaningful. We are immensely grateful.

At Marpa House, we have been kindly advised by Khenpo Tseten to begin reciting the prayer for the Swift Rebirth of Kyabje Chime Rinpoche after the 49th day as part of our daily practice.

We sincerely pray that our precious teacher is reborn swiftly and his enlightened activities always continue!

with love

Prayers and Practices led by Khenpo Tseten Dorje of Shechen Monastery

Prayers and Practices led by Khenpo Tseten Dorje of Shechen Monastery

Led by Khenpo Tseten Dorje of Shechen Monastery after Kyabje Chime Rinpoche’s Parinirvana.

We continue to focus on prayers and meditation following Rinpoche’s Parinirvana. We are very pleased to inform you that Khenpo Tseten will be returning to Marpa House to lead some prayers and practices for us.

One of the practices he will lead is the Narak Kong Shak practice. This is said to be particularly effective in repairing samaya and broken vows, and is often done to support the sangha following a great teacher’s passing. We will also do the Khenpo Gangshar Guru Yoga practice, which was very close to Rinpoche’s heart.

Attendance is by donation only. These are to help cover the costs of printing texts, facilitating the sessions and hosting Khenpo Tseten’s visit. You are very welcome to join by Zoom (Wednesday PM only) or in person (both days).

Calling the Lama from Afar at Marpa House

Calling the Lama from Afar at Marpa House

You are warmly invited to join us, online via Zoom or in person, to recite Calling the Lama from Afar for our precious guru, Kyabje Chime Rinpoche, at Marpa House on Friday, 17th April at 7 pm (BST).

Calling the Lama from Afar is a Kagyu-lineage Vajrayana prayer and meditation by Jamgon Kongtrul the Great, serving as a guru yoga so we can connect with our root teacher.

It is a request for blessings and guidance, expressing unwavering devotion and trust in our lama as a mirror of our own mind. The prayer acknowledges our suffering, and it relies on our pure devotion to “call” the lama.

It is particularly powerful when an enlightened being has passed into Parinirvana. In Tibetan Buddhism, the lama is seen as one with the Buddha, a living embodiment of awakened wisdom. Through this practice, we nurture devotion, open to blessings, and attune to our teacher’s luminous mind—an awareness that flows beyond the boundaries of physical life.

Join us as we reinforce our devotion and connection to Kyabje Chime Rinpoche.

We will be livestreaming at 7:00 pm BST. For those who regularly join our online sessions, this is one hour earlier than usual for ‘Calling the Lama from Afar’.

Please send your request by 1 pm latest on the day to ensure you receive the link.

We very much look forward to seeing you either in-person or online.
