Courses & Events at Marpa House

Please join us for wonderful teachings, courses and events happening at the House and in our virtual shrine room via Zoom. This month’s online puja details are available at the bottom of this page.

As a sign of respect following the passing of Kyabje Chime Rinpoche in March 2026, the Marpa House programme for the next year will focus solely on retreats and collective practice, rather than any teachings or events.

All previously planned events for this year have now been cancelled.

Meditation Sunday at Marpa House led by Brian Richardson27 days

Sunday 5th July 10:30 am & 2:00 pm. Free of charge. Lunch is available extra but needs to be booked in advance with the secretary (£7), and Supper (£5) is available, but should be booked in advance with the Secretary. Meditation Sunday – These sessions are suitable for meditators of all levels, featuring guided meditation by experienced sangha members and are offered free of charge. We hope you can join us. You are welcome to attend all or any of the sessions. This day is suitable for beginners as well as for anyone wishing to refresh the basics of Shi-ne (Shamatha) meditation. Each session will be gentle and calm, with short breaks. Shi-ne or Shamatha practices create the stable and supple mind necessary to work with other meditation techniques. We will practice writing the seed syllable of Chenrezik, and then see how it can be used in Shi-ne meditation. The afternoon session will start a bit earlier than usual, at 2:00 pm. Please email the Secretary at mail@marpahouse.org.uk for more information. This month, the session will be led by Brian Richardson. Brian has been a student of Kyabje Chime Rinpoche for many years, since he first met him in 1986.
