Help us to honour Rinpoche

We have all experienced such a profound sense of loss and change following the passing of our beloved teacher, Kyabje Chime Rinpoche, in March.

We will shortly gather at Marpa House for ‘One Sky, One Mind’, a special memorial event to honour Kyabje Chime Rinpoche and celebrate his life.

This will be a meaningful and beautiful occasion for Rinpoche’s students and friends to be together.

We are offering this event free of charge, so that as many people as possible can attend. However, putting the weekend together incurs some considerable costs.

We know that many people will want to help towards these costs, but we also understand that not everyone will be in a position to contribute.

There is absolutely no obligation to donate; simply being with us for this special occasion, or thinking of Rinpoche if you are unable to attend, matters most. If you can donate, we would be deeply grateful for your support.

Full details on how you can help are below.

Ways you can support the memorial weekend

We have identified several areas where your support can help make the memorial possible.

We are not asking you to donate the full amount shown below—donations of ANY size toward these costs are very welcome.

Marquee & furnishings
Target: £5500

This includes the cost of the marquee itself, plus everything needed to make it a warm, comfortable, and welcoming space for the weekend, including staging, carpeting, heating, chairs, electrics, and lighting. And not forgetting additional toilet hire!

Flowers
Target: £1000

Flowers will help create a beautiful, appropriate setting for the memorial and reflect the importance of the occasion.

Screen, sound, filming & editing
Target: £4500

High-quality audio-visual equipment and support are an important part of the weekend, including the mixing desk, speakers, microphones and large screen. We are filming the event so those unable to attend in person can watch an edited version later.

Event materials and printing
Target: £2000

Many practical elements go into bringing the event together, including commemorative printed materials, signage, graphics, prayer texts, and other event materials.

Food & refreshments
Target: £1000

We will provide food for attendees on Sunday, as well as for the volunteers who give their time before, during, and after the event. Refreshments will be available for everyone over both days.

Whatever you can give will make a difference. Whether it helps towards the marquee, flowers, sound and filming, printed materials, food or any of the many other costs involved, every donation helps us create this special weekend in Rinpoche’s memory.

Since 1973, Marpa House has offered visitors a beautiful, peaceful environment to retreat, meditate, and connect with the Dharma and the Marpa House community.

This would not have been possible without all the kind donations we have received, large or small. No matter how insignificant a donation may seem, every single penny has made a difference.

We hope that this special weekend will have a lasting impact on us all, giving us an opportunity to remember, celebrate and reflect on Rinpoche’s life, his teachings, and all that he created and gave to us. We also hope it will help us maintain and carry forward his legacy for generations to come.

Please donate using the button below, or if you would prefer to pay via BACS, please email us for details here.

With deep gratitude and much love from all of us.
